Homemade anti-aging hydrating pumpkin face mask

Happy Monday Everyone!

Kovi here with a beauty update 🙂

Recently I was experimenting with face masks  and came up with  this magic pumpkin mask.

You’ll  need the following ingredients:

1 cup canned pumpkin

3 tbsp yogurt

3 tbsp honey

1 tbsp cinnamon

Blend all the ingredients together using processor and apply to your face for 20 mins.
Remove  mask and rinse your face

Pumpkin is rich in fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids , which increase cell turnover. Pumpkin contains carotenoids to fight wrinkles and neutralize free radicals that damage skin. Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging. Zinc in pumpkin seeds is perfect for acne sufferers. Zinc helps control the hormone level and oil production. Pumpkin seeds are rich in essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, which you need for maintaining good function of the skin. They also regulate sebum, for those with oily skin. The molecular structure of pumpkin is small so it penetrates deeper into the skin. It’s perfect for treating a dull complexion, aging skin and pigmentation.
Yogurt contains lactic acid that dissolves dead skin cells. This gentle exfoliation not only helps to create a natural glow and prevent breakouts, but also helps to reduce appearance of lines and wrinkles. Yogurt face mask helps moisturize, fight acne, prevent premature aging and relieve sunburn.

Honey is a great anti-aging agent and moisturizer. It is rich in natural antioxidants that have antimicrobial properties. They protect your skin from harmful UV rays and facilitate the skin’s ability to rejuvenate. Honey also absorbs and retains moisture, and this helps in keeping the skin well hydrated, fresh and supple.

Cinnamon  improves fine lines by plumping the skin , it  stimulates blood vessels and brings blood to the surface of the skin, the skin plumps out and fine lines become less visible, it also  increases collagen levels for up to six hours after it is applied. Breakdown of collagen causes the skin to lose elasticity and increases signs of aging. Cinnamon has also antiseptic properties. If you have an open cut , just dust a pinch of cinnamon over it. Bacteria will be killed and the wound heals faster. Cinnamon could also be used to nourish the scalp, it acts like an exfoliating agent to stimulate the scalp and provide nourishment to hair follicles.
